4th February 2021 Hiking - Walking: Landguard circuit Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: all sorts, sunny periods, fog and then rain. Max Speed: Distance Covered: 3 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Thursday 4th February - walk **** - Landguard circuit – all sorts, sunny periods, fog and then rain. We had all sorts of weather today here in Felixstowe, foggy, low cloud, sunny periods and even rain late in the afternoon and we always aim to get out for a walk or bike every day so after a morning at home, me doing my exercises while Mag did a mega cook/bake up. I then made a chicken sandwich and we took the van down to The Manor for our usual walk around Landguard Nature Reserve, managing to get a free spot by the caravans. As my much love Fujifilm 18 – 135 gave up yesterday and with my camera body on its last legs I gave the pension a bashing last night managing to replace both items, can’t wait for them to arrive. So, I took my big 100 – 400 lenses with me today as I definitely can’t go anywhere without my camera! The morning fog had gone and there was an interesting sky as we set off along the footpath to the view point with not many people about, always a plus:) Only spotted one rabbit and the only birds seen were a few gulls but a container ship came in while we were passing the docks, always good as it looks higher than we were! We got to the view point in time to get some pics of the tugs manoeuvring the ship into its berth and got some nice pics, you can never have enough dock shots! Then back along the River Orwell to our spot on the old jetty for our yummy chicken sandwich watching the river action. The pilot boat and the bouy moving vessel passed! Despite the light airs it was a little on the chilly side so we continued on our way across the reserve getting back to the van just before the rain started! One more mild day tomorrow before some bad weather arrives with the possibility of snow ! Photo Gallery Here |
